Proposal for a Masterplan for Toton

With plans in place for a High-Speed 2 (HS2) station to be located in Toton, the town well-known for its railway history and Chetwynd Barracks is looking into re-development plans to accommodate for the inevitable changes that comes with the implementation of the HS2.

Working in a group of four, we came up with a Masterplan proposal for the town that aims to celebrate and weave its rich history into the a proposal that enhances the existing, all whilst respectfully trying to improve the environment to accommodate for changing needs. This was achieved first through extensive analysis of the existing demographic, in which a community consultation was conducted, and a study of the history and heritage value of the area. From these studies, we were then able to conclude which areas and history of Toton was crucial to be preserved and incorporated into the proposed.
